All about Yoder’s Dutch Barns…..
Yoder’s Dutch Barns is a family owned and operated business in the lovely hills of middle Tennessee. Phil Yoder (owner) started “from scratch” in 1997, buying enough material to build one building at a time. What started out as a one man operation has become one of Dickson County’s largest selection of storage barns, gazebos, pavilions, lawn furniture and play sets. They also do jobs on-site if unable to get into your yard with truck and trailer or “mule” which is a special delivery machine designed to get your building into the exact spot you want it. Their goal is to give the customer satisfaction and do business with honesty and integrity.
Phil and his wife Marietta wanted a home-based business where their growing family could work together and the boys could learn a trade in a safe, Christian environment. The Yoder family has been blessed with six children, all of which are involved in one way or another in the business. Jeremy, who is the oldest is ‘shop foreman’ if Phil is out on a delivery. He also enjoys the sales department and does well in that. Alex is Phil’s number one delivery assistant, from aiding with back up maneuvers to carrying blocks, he’s “Johnny on the spot”! He also helps with building when he’s in the shop. Andrew & Luke are still in school but they are responsible to haul out scraps after school hours. When that job is done they love to experiment with making bird houses and other interesting structures. Sara & Vicki are the girls in the family. They occasionally help with clean up around the shop and are quite famous for the refreshing breaks they bring out to their hard working dad & brothers on a hot summer day! Marietta helps out as sales person when the crew is out on-site or metal roofing jobs.
The only non family employee is Joe Miller. The Yoders depend on Joe a lot in the building department. He’s very dependable and also doubles as sales person on occasion. He’s been employed here since May 2011.
